I've never had to write a blog post like this before so please bear with me. I started this blog almost a year ago with the best intentions of spreading the "Buy Handmade!" message throughout the Hudson Valley. I wanted to provide a source of handmade businesses and events in the area as I have found alot of craft fair listing websites are just a mess and not the most up to date.
I work full time and have a long commute to NYC every day, I have my own business which I work on keeping afloat, a blog, I am one of the leaders of Hudson Valley Etsy - the official Etsy team of the Hudson Valley, and I also maintain their blog with the help of some of our lovely members. Needless to say I have stretched myself out too thin and am unable to commit to this website the way I have to everything else. I need to let something go.
Not enough submissions have been coming in and it's made me check the site less and less. And I hate to have a blog which hasn't been updated in weeks. So this will be my last blog post. The submission forms have been disabled and I will no longer update the Twitter account.
Thank you so much for reading and following on Twitter! I do encourage you to follow Hudson Valley Etsy as we list every Friday where members of the group will be selling their wonderful items. Also follow the group on @HVNYTeam . I'm still pretty easy to find too, you can follow my blog at Pulp Sushi. I would still love to connect with other locals for projects and opportunities in the Hudson Valley.
Cheers!
Marilyn Perez
